Best wishes from solidarité France – Bulgarie and news of our year-end actions
On December 30th we received for the 14th consecutive year a group of students from the Association Lyonnaise SOLIDARI’TERRE (12 students).
They will spend a few days in the specialized centres for handicapped children in the town of MEZDRA.
They will participate in the animation in these 5 centres which bring together about 50 children with physical and mental disabilities. Our student friends will also install a playful material that promotes re-education (inflatable structure). It will be delivered on January 2.
Solidarité France-Bulgarie has advanced the funds (€702). Last year 2 inflatable structures had been installed in similar centres in the town of Harmanli as well as a training bike to promote reweighting. In 2018, we will strengthen these donations to the orphanages of Mezdra.
On occasion, let us specify that our association Solidarité France Bulgaria has already done in December to the city of Mezdra, a donation of 1,000 euros which will allow the children to be able to make a stay in the snow (in Bulgaria). Children are rarely able to get out of these facilities. It is also a popular support for health care teams.
The reception of students (who come from different cities where they were on vacation) spread over the day of yesterday and today. We make sure that they feel welcome especially by offering them a guided tour of the centre of Sofia…et the resolution of the usual small problems such as: the exchange of euros in leva, the suitcases not arrived, an accompaniment to take the train or The bus.
But logistical support begins several months upstream in the preparation of their stay (choice of orphanages and accommodations, visits of sites to determine humanitarian action). It continues during their mission and downstream of their visit by helping them to realize what they have decided to do (delivery of equipment, financial regulation of operations and perhaps strengthening of donations in specialized material for functional re-education ).
We offer you 3 photos taken this day that testify to their appreciation of this welcome and that is worth so long and fruitful humanitarian collaboration. This, I would like to underline, is also made possible by your support.
This year, we would particularly mention the Erwan family who generously and amicably granted us a large share of the funds that their association had collected.
A big thank you to all of you and our best wishes for 2018
