Dear Ms. Dimitrova – Pichot,

I would like to express my gratitude to your association “Solidarity France-Bulgarie ‘ for the Prize awarded to Kostadin Margaritov, the younger participant of the festival of Rozhen 2015

Let me give you a bit more information about our musician family:

We are the descendants of the great bagpipe player Kostadin Ilchev, whom, in addition to teaching children music, is also a master in the making of bagpipes (Kaba gaida).

He is the man who previously gathered 333 bagpipe musicians to play at the same time. Thanks to this initiative, he was rewarded by appearing on the Guinness world records book. This time, in 2015 at Rozhen, he brought together 431 bagpipe players.

With his wife, Kina Ilchetva, they have two daughters Velitchka and Zlatka, who are also singers of traditional songs. Their three grandsons and their little girl became bagpipers. Among them is Kostadin Margaritov, only 5 years, the youngest musician at Rozhen this year. We are all proud of our Rhodope origins and this music comes from the bottom of our heart.

I sincerely hope that our young Kostadin will follow his grandfather example, controlling the manufacture and playing the bagpipes. From the age of 3 years, he occurred on the scenes in playing music but also singing.

Thanks to people like you that stimulate and support the folklore, our children will continue to evolve and to promote worldwide the Bulgarian tradition and the highest heights.
